F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault and Recon) is Monolith Production and Vivendi Universal's intense psychological horror first-person shooter video game. The Players assume the character of F.E.A.R.'s point man whose mission is to deal with threats at all cost. Determine the origin of the signal and contain this crisis before it spirals out of control.

I am glad that the horror aspect wasn't just some cheap draw for a generic shooter. It's a well-integrated layer to a fun and challenging experience. And the spookiness is mature and thought-provoking, rather than being juvenile and cartoonish.

F.E.A.R.'s excellent pacing can bring players to proceed plenty of edge-of-your-seat atmosphere. Monolith definitely understood the concept of getting minds to be deceiving.
